I was getting bored of my current favorite game, League of Legends, and I decided to try out a new game on Steam. Many of my friends already played Counterstrike so I decided to give it a try. Before Counterstrike, my only previous First Person Shooter experience was playing the Call of Duty series games. My first game of counterstrike, I did terrible. I died 10 times without getting a single kill. This got me angry and I kept on playing and dieing a lot. After 20 games of doing bad, I decided that Counterstrike was not the game for me. However after a month long break, I decided to try the game again. It is a very popular series so I figured that I had nothing to lose. The second time playing Counterstrike, it started to become more enjoyable. I realized that it is not a typical FPS game and has a more tactical approach. You can't just spray and pray at your opponents and hope for a kill. Instead, you have to use the map to your advantage by using choke points and objectives to take down your enemies. It also requires communication with your teammates to get good at the game. One cool included feature is that their is voice communication built in so you don't have to hop on Skype to communicate with your friends/teammates. For anyone looking for a new game to play, you should look at buying Counterstrike. It is a fairly cheap game to buy and it is available on steam.
